What Janell needs......

This cracks me up every time I do it. Go to Google....there's one right here on my blog to your right (or if you have joined Swagbucks, use it) and type in your name and the word "needs". You can scroll down and see things that you need.

I did my name and this is what I need:

Janell needs a plastic surgeon. (I beg your pardon)

Janell needs Will's undivided attention. (don't tell Keith)

Janell needs a babysitter at her home every other Saturday (you bet I do....but every Saturday would work even better)

Janell needs six hundred dollars and seventy five cents. (I need a lot more than that)

Here are a few more from my family:

Drew needs a date ..... because apparently the last one filed a restraining order against him. (shameful)

Todd needs a lawyer (is there something you haven't told us?)

Shannon needs to learn how to soothe her moods with something other than food. (hee hee)

Keith needs to get a real good physical. He seems to be lacking in proper blood flow to the brain.
(this just makes me giggle)

Drew needs some help with his addiction. (I told you those Hot Wheel cars were getting out of hand)

Addison needs to prioritize spending and minimize waste (does that mean no more Gymboree?)

Keith needs to write on his blog more. (he has one?)

Jackie needs a dose of real-world reality and being an Avon lady doesn't count! (I keep telling her she needs to change professions)

Taylor needs to go potty on the way to the Hannah Montana/Jonas Brothers concert . (lol....she wouldn't listen and go before we left home)

Daisy needs you on Twitter. (Daisy Twitters??)

Now go Google your name and see what you need. If you want, post it in the comment section. (And Tiffany if you are reading this, shame on you for what you need).

On a roll......

No pun intended! This is a layout I did from a trip my family took to downtown Atlanta a few years ago. This is a big field in front of the World of Coke. There was this giant ball that you could play with it. I think we kinda hogged it by looking back at the pictures. I just stood back and took pictures (and giggled).

I sewed the bouncy things with embroidery floss and a needle. Other than that...this was a VERY simple (and quick) layout.

Way Back When-esday!

In honor of Keith's birthday this weekend.....I decided to post this pic of him and Drew. This was March 2001 ( Taylor's 6th b-day party). Drew was about the exact age that Addi is now (who woulda thought we would have another one so many years later).

Saturday, in the park........

.....I thought it was the 4th of July. I don't think that's how the song even goes but that's what title popped into my head when I thought about scrapping these pics. You didn't think I would get it done, did you??? (me neither) But here it is! Now keep in mind....I am one of those that always has to do double layouts. I am really thinking about getting over that here in the near future when I start scrapping Addi. I just don't have time to do a double page for every single event. We'll see if I can overcome this phobia of my pages not matching. Is there a 12 step program for that??

Anyway, as I said the other day....I cannot take credit for this page. It is a total scraplift (scrapbook terminology for stealing someone else's idea....but it's very much allowed and I think it is a compliment to the person who you steal from). So go check out my friend Michelle's blog and look at her layout. That's where I got the idea. She did a great job, didn't she???

My Little Sand Bucket (I scrapped)

Here is even more proof that when I go to a scrapbook weekend, I do more than socialize (Keith). I do get "some" scrapping done. I made this little sand bucket mini album with our Cancun beach pictures.

This is the cover. The handle is made from wire.

Page 2 (not sure what happened to this scan, sorry).

Page 3

Page 4
Page 5. This handle sticks up and you can see it from the front. It has real sand on it.

Page 6. Back of page 5.

The next 2 pages are acrylic. I had to put everything on there back to back because it is see through and I needed each piece to cover up what is behind it.

This is the back of the acrylic page.

Page 9.

Back cover.
I usually take little kits like this to crops so I can work and talk and don't really have to think. I have been in sort of a scrapping rut lately with pregnancy, new baby and the stress of Keith's (lack of) work. I really want to get going again. My plans for this weekend are to scraplift a cute, cute page that my friend Michelle did last weekend. I'm hoping that will get my creative juices flowing again. If I do by chance get it done, I will post both pages if she doesn't mind.

Oh, and I already have my Project 365 picture for today. Yes, those are paramedics holding my daughter and yes, they were at my house at 7:30 this morning. I had a little scare this morning but all is well now. Addi woke up earlier than normal this morning so I gave her about half a bottle and then had to get Drew up and on the bus. I laid her on our bed and made sure that none of the 6 or so pillows that we sleep with were near her. I came downstairs...got Drew ready and out the door. Listened at the stairs to see if she was fussing. She wasn't so I decided to take a few minutes and straighten up. After probably 20 minutes total....I went back upstairs. When I got there.....my heart skipped a beat. I looked at Addi and she had somehow gotten hold of a pillow and pulled it over her face. I ran over and snatched it off. She was sweating and would not react to me (she was breathing the whole time). I tried shaking her, talking to her and she just stared straight ahead. Then she started breathing rapidly. I FREAKED OUT! I called 9-1-1 and then my neighbor, Taryn, who is a Grady paramedic. I could barely even get the words out to her.....I think I just said "Come Quick". She did and then the sweet cute paramedics showed up. By this time, Miss Addi was smiling and cooing and all was well. I think I shaved a few years off of my life (let's hope this doesn't happen too often, I'm no spring chicken). So I debated and decided to go ahead and ask "Can I take your picture?" They were happy to oblige and now I have my pic of the day. I was just thinking last night that this was a slow, boring week in the world of pictures and I was really gonna have to stretch it to find things for this week. Well, stretch it, I did!

Have a great weekend!!!

Happy 1st Birthday, Sweet Memories!

One of my favorite scrapbook stores in the world, Sweet Memories in Carrollton turned ONE this weekend. Erin and Carolyn (aka Mama Waters) threw a huge party to celebrate.

This is what the room looked like when I got there. Erin always goes way out with everything, and this was no exception! Have you ever seen such cuteness?
This was my spot!

Our gang...being silly (nothing new there)!!!

Keith hung out with me all weekend (in reality he was home with the kiddos....what a man). I cropped this picture and couldn't bring myself to throw him away so I just propped him up to enjoy the festivities! (He looks just thrilled to be included, don't ya think)???
My friend, Jennifer with the awesome birthday cake she made. This girl is unbelievable. I wish you could see some of the scrapbook pages she does (wait, actually you can ...click here for her blog).

The real cake. Almost too pretty to eat....but that didn't stop us. YUM!

Some of the smucka (that's a scrapbooking term for awesome supplies) that we got to make an album with!
There was a restaurant right in the building we were in and that's where we ate dinner. Have you ever eaten Crummy Chicken? Mmmmmm!
Yes, we do actually scrapbook at these things! Here's proof! What fun we had! I can't wait until Sweet Memories turns two years old!

Way Back When-esday!

I just love this picture. This is Todd and Shannon in 1988. This was Shannon's first Easter so she would have been about 4-5 months and Todd was 4 1/2. I know I saved this green dress but I can't find it for the life of me. I would give anything to have it for Addi to wear. It also has special meaning because my Mom bought it for her at Upton's in Austell (my Mom's favorite store). Don't you think Addi favors her big sister???

3rd Grade???

Yeah, that is a question mark because I really can't believe it myself. Like, can he really be in 3rd grade already? It is just mind boggling. But it is what it is........(sigh).
My Big Boy!
Drew and "Mrs. Herdmann"! Her name is really Mrs. Hermann but I can't convince Drew of that. Last Christmas I read him the chapter book "The Best Christmas Pageant Ever" and the bad kids last name was Herdmann. He asked me then if it was about "Mrs. Herdmann" at his school. I told him no that Mrs. Hermann does not have any children. Well, that didn't matter and I think she will always be (in Drew's mind anyway) "Mrs. Herdmann". It makes her giggle to hear that story. (Actually, Drew makes her giggle).

He said he likes 3rd grade so far because they don't start homework until the second week of school!

Way Back When-esday!

Well, since I will soon have a 3rd grader, I decided to share a picture of Drew's first day of school (couldn't you just eat him up?). This was Ms. Kelly's 3 year old pre-school! So that would have been August 2004 at McEachern Methodist. We loved everything about his pre-school years. I am so excited that Holley will get to go to McEachern Methodist this year, as well! Look out, Mrs. Tanner.

We are Family!

And there are lots of us! Wow! What a fun weekend. My cousin, Lisa and her entire family came down from Michigan for a visit. There were 11 of them in all. They all came to our house on Saturday night for a pool and pizza party! This is pretty much what the adults did!
And this is what the kids did! Everyone seemed to have a great time!
On Sunday, they wanted to go downtown. So we did! We saw World of Coke, CNN Center, & Olympic Park! It was soooo hot! Thank goodness, Keith opted to stay home with Addi so I didn't have to worry about her at all.

Then we headed to Stone Mountain (yes, this was all in the same day!). We didn't get there until around 6:00, so didn't have a lot of time but we did get to enjoy a few things!
That's Jason and Barb! Jason is 31 (I think) and remembered the laser show from when they would visit when he was little. He couldn't wait to relive the memories take his kids to see it!
Smile, Dave!

What a great evening! The weather was perfect, crowds low and family all together. What more could a person ask for??? As I type this, they are in the car headed to Destin. Hope they have a great time!
