Showered With Love!

I had my final shower today. It was at our church (Poplar Springs Baptist). Keith had to work so I decided to take Drew with me. WOW! He stressed me out so bad.....he had to be the center of attention every minute. I hope this isn't an omen of what will soon to come once Addi gets here.

There was a great turn out and I got so many nice things. This little girl will be so lucky to be surrounded by so many people who love and care for her. Thanks to everyone who attended....I appreciate every little thing. I think we are ready now..........bags are packed, showers are over, hair appointment on Wednesday, Jackie will be back on Monday. I still think this Friday would be a good day!
Yay for diapers!!! The youth girls! All the loot once I got it home. The fun part is going through it and putting it all in it's perfect little place!

They gave it a big........

They didn't go for my plan. Even the cool birthdate thing didn't soften them. Darn! But they did say that they would most likely induce at 39 weeks, which is March 12th. That's 2 weeks from tomorrow so there is a light at the end of the tunnel. Keep your fingers crossed for me!

You've Got The Cutest Little Baby Face (and a Dr. update)

They took this cool 4-D picture today at the Dr. Is that not the coolest thing ever? Drew said he "couldn't understand those things"....but I can see her perfectly. Can't you? Anyway......my blood pressure has skyrocketed again and they have put me back on "complete bed rest". The only problem with that is.........I have another Dr's appointment tomorrow, talent show at school and a practice baseball game on Thursday night, scrappin' friends are coming over on Friday, and another shower on Saturday. Now how do they expect me to be on bed rest with all of those fun things going on???? Seriously, I will have to try to be as good as I possibly can. I promise not to cook, vacuum, do laundry or clean one toilet......scout's honor!

Ms. Addison now weighs 6 lb 9 oz and is right on target for her growth. She is also head down again! So tomorrow when I go to my regular Dr., I am going to whine, cry, plead & beg (might even throw myself on the floor) to be induced. Jackie and I picked the date. We thought next Friday would be a great day for lots of reasons: Jackie will be in town (she will be gone the weekend before and after that date), I can get my mother in law here beforehand so we won't have to be stressed about where Drew will go, it's a Friday and will just be easier on everyone and last of all the date will be 03/06/09.........sounds like a cool birthday to me!!!

So send out your thoughts, prayers, good vibes or whatever it is you do tomorrow at 11:10. I want (need) this to be over!!!

My sister is Famous!

She never told me that she got a new job as a Snuggie model!!! Jackie....you have been keeping secrets from all of us! LOL! Not only does she play that girl on the Sopranos but now she is modeling for Snuggie. Not really her of course, but when I got this in my email yesterday, I had to laugh....... and do a double take......looks just like her, don't you agree??? Now I guess I will have to break down and buy a Snuggie! GASP!!! (She's gonna kill me for this).

Some Scrappy Goodness!

Well, since the title of my blog is Oh, Scrap....I decided I should post something scrappy every now and then. As most everyone who knows me knows....I am a scrapbook-aholic. But this being old and pregnant thing has done some scary things to my body (read-no energy), so I haven't been scrapping like I use to. This was an Easter book that I started last year and never finished. I have a million of these projects hanging around my scraproom. I pulled it out the other night and finished it before the night was over. It feels good to complete something for a change. There are 18 total pages to this book so I didn't want to totally bore everyone and post them all. If you would like to see the other pages...just click on the Scrappy Goodness slideshow to the right...they are all there! Enjoy!

Valentine Happenings.....

You would think it was Christmas around here this morning. Drew woke me up before 7am asking if he could have his Valentine goodies. He was soo excited!
Drew at school with Mrs. Chapman (he loves her dearly) and passing out his Valentine cards.
I made these little mailboxes for Drew's teachers.
We delivered a little Valentine gift to this sweet little lady from church.
Drew loves to make his own Valentine cards. I pull out all of my junk and just let him go to town. he made cards for his whole class, cousins, neighbors, grandparents and everyone else he could think of!!
I told him he had one last Valentine surprise that would be delivered later in the evening. He tried all day to pry it out of me...but I wouldn't budge. He ran to the door when the doorbell rang and was a little disappointed when he saw it was "just the pizza man". He changed his tune a little when we opened the box and this heart shaped pizza was inside. How cool is that!

HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY!!!

Why don't they just print more money?

Drew cracks me up. Ok, I know all kids crack up their own parents and other people just roll their eyes and say..."Here she goes again". But he really does make me laugh. I try to shield him from the bad goings on in the world, but there are some things (well, a lot really) that he just seems to find out any way. I mean I don't let him watch the news and I always pause Nancy Grace when he comes in the room...but he just knows about things.

So the other day, he started asking me about the economy. He used the word economy too. He wanted to know what was up with it. I spent a good 10 minutes trying to explain to him (the best I could...I'm kinda puzzled by it all too) about how houses aren't selling and that just trickles down. If the construction workers aren't working, then they can't go out to eat or shopping and then those people lose their jobs. So on and so on.......

He looked as if he was getting it. And then after a good long pause, he says to me......"Well, can't they just print more money or do they not want to cut down any more trees?"

If it could just be that easy........

Will she be messy? (A baby shower)

Ok, first let me explain the title to this post. The night before the shower, I was over at Jackie's house while she was getting ready for the shower. We were scurrying around and Hannah and Holley were "helping" us with little things. Throughout the night, Hannah asked 3 different times if Addi is going to be messy. We were so pre-occupied that we just kinda blew her off...I think at one point Jackie did say, "Yes, babies are pretty messy". A little bit later, I overheard Hannah telling Holley...."Addi will be messy when she is born that's why they are giving her a shower". LOL!!! Out of the mouths of babes!

So on to the shower....OMG! It was awesome! It was so good to see all of my friends and family....some I had not seen in forever! Everything was just perfect. Jackie outdid herself on the food and decor. Sooo cute! (Also, thanks to the others who helped by bringing things!) And we got so many nice things! I could never even begin to list everything...it would go on forever. Let me just say that if Addison were to come now....she would not want or need a thing!

Me...opening gifts. There were so many that it took close to an hour, I think. It was like Christmas but 10 times better!

This is the whole gang!!

Me at the gift table.

Beth G. had the bright idea to take a pic from upstairs looking down. Great thinking, Beth!

The School Box gang! We all worked there together! It has been 8 or 9 years (gasp) since I worked at the School Box but I still stay in touch with these girls. I talk to and see most of them weekly!

The Hair Bow tree before it was full. I ended up with a ton of cute little bows and head bands. So much fun!

The food table. OMG! It was all so yummy! I ate 2 plates full. Wish I had some now!

I had to hide my eyes for the big surprise!

OMG! A stroller/carseat combo......in pink! This great gift was from my dad and Shirley! I was soo excited!

Two of my favorite girls.....Shannon and Jackie!

My dad and the girls after the shower. I cut down all of the balloons and gave them to the girls. Holley decided to let hers go up to Meemaw (our kids usually do that with all of their balloons and the younger ones just catch on somehow), but Hannah wasn't letting hers go!

I just want to say THANK YOU to everyone who came and for all of the nicest gifts ever! I am so lucky to be surrounded by such great friends and family!

Update from the Dr. today: Well, Ms. Addi has decided to turn her little self around into a breech position!!! She has been head down the whole time and now she is feet down. I will go back in 2 weeks to see if she has turned. If not, they will schedule me for a C-section....I can't decide if that would be a good thing or not!

Happy Birthday, Belinda!

Happy Birthday to my niece, Belinda today. She was my very first niece and I used to babysit her when I was a teenager. Jackie would leave early for college and just put her in my bed. She would wake up before me and destroy my bedroom every single day while I was "trying" to sleep (great babysitter, huh?). Then after a while she would start saying "It up, Nell" which translates to "Get up, Nell". That girl could talk in complete sentences before she was a year old! This picture is from last summer at a picnic that we went to. Those are her little girls, 3 year old Holley on the left and 4 year old Hannah on the right......aren't they the cutest little things???
