Way Back When-esday!

It's Wednesday again? How did that happen?

This is Drew at about 9 months old. I honestly could just eat him up in this picture. I just loved his little 4th of July outift and those 2 front teeth...too cute!

(Shirlene, your picture is coming soon...so be patient. It will be worth the wait for everyone, I promise)

Skinny Dipping!

Addi does have a bathing suit (did you really have any doubt?) but when I went to put it on her today, it was huge. And so we decided to let her skinny dip! So there she was in all her glory....and could care less. She loved the pool. We waited until the sun had almost gone down so there were no worries there. Keith can't wait to take her in again tomorrow. I guess I will be off to Target to get her a swimsuit that fits! She better be a good girl when she grows up...we now have some really good bribing material! Hee, hee!

What have we been doing???

Wishing Daddy a Happy Father's Day!

Having fun at the James Family Reunion!

The grandkids and great grandkids! And everyone (pic below) enjoying a leisurely game of egg toss (yuck)!

We even found a long lost cousin. This is Drew's 2nd cousin Payne, who he has never met. Payne came home with us and spent the night! They kinda look alike, don't you think?
Taking Addi to her first "Twinkle Time" at the library! She loved it! I used to take Drew when he was a baby!

Going to Bible School!
Making "Human Sundaes" out of our Bible School Instructors! Mr. Nick and Ms. Rachelle, you look yummy!
Sleep Overs with friends!

Meeting new babies! Little Max was born on Tuesday, weighing 7 lb 14 oz. Congrats, Mark, Amy & Girls!
Oh, and just hanging around looking pretty!

And what have you been up to???

This is my friend Tiffany (hey, Tiff) and her family. Don't they look cute? This was May 13, 2006 at the Braves game. That's Tiffany on the left, her son Russ, husband Brandon and her daughter Madi. They also have a little boy named Cooper who will be 4 (!!) soon.

Those 2 Blonde Sisters!

Another funny kid story. Not my kid this time though! And actually, this wasn't out of the mouths of babes, but out of the mouth of a sweet old lady.

This week is VBS for our church. Of course, I invited Jackie to bring Hannah and Holley (my nieces). Of course, she took me up on the offer. No way was she going to pass up a week of crafts, snacks, free babysitting, music and other fun things!! Those that are familiar with H & H know that they fight CONSTANTLY (I know these pics tell a completely different story), just like most sisters at that age do. Just because they were in God's house (I did remind them where they were) was no different. They fought about everything and you could tell it was wearing on the teachers that were in charge of their group. Especially by the third night of it.

My assignment for the week is the craft room and each group rotates to us at some point in the evening. We were in the middle of the chaos of switching form one age group to the next...basically, kids everywhere. There were so many pre-k kids that we were going to divide them up into 2 classrooms. We were discussing this when one of the old(er) women who was a helper and obviously had no idea that they belonged to me (they don't really belong to me but I feel like they do) said "Be sure to separate those two blonde sisters". I about died........but didn't say a word! When Jackie got there to pick them up. I, of course had to tell her and we both got a good giggle out of it.

"I have two questions."

I'll explain the blog title in a minute. Let me go back a little.......last night our church had a family outing at the Rome Braves. We had never been and the tickets were cheap ($5) so we decided to go. Well, Keith ended up getting held up at work so he didn't get to go. So, Beth (Silver) and Connor rode with Drew and I (Addi stayed with Jackie).

We ended up getting there later than planned (still in time for the game to start) because I met Jackie in the parking lot of Kohl's to hand Addi off. Well, it took us 45 minutes (you read that right) to get the car seat out of my car and into hers. We would probably still be there if some nice man hadn't helped us. I would give anything to see the persons face who watches the parking lot surveillance camera for Kohl's. I know he got quite a laugh and we may even end up on America's Funniest Home Videos.
But we finally made it, ate some nasty hot dogs and settled in for the game. It was really cool because we could see the field perfectly...it was right there. Beth and I (and most of the women from church, I think) don't really know any of the real Braves players anyway so to us it was just like watching a real game.

This is where the title of this blog comes in. Now, if you don't know my son (and his many obsessions).....this probably won't mean anything to you. But those of us who are blessed with the honor of knowing Drew James....this should crack you up. It did us anyway.
After the game, a security guard told us to go outside of the gate and the players would come out of the locker room and give autographs, etc. So, Beth, the boys and I, along with my long time friend Shirlene (yes, THE Shirlene Brown Brown Samples Brown) and her crew went to check it out.

Sure enough, they started coming out. Well, this is what Drew said to EVERY LAST ONE OF THEM...."Excuse me, I have two questions. What kind of car do you drive and what kind of cell phone do you have? These players were cracking up. Here's this little 8 year old kid asking what kind of cell phone they had and he was as serious as can be...he really wanted to know. We laughed and laughed. One player even took his phone out and let Drew hold it. (Note the look of pure bliss on his face in the pic below).

They were all really sweet and cute and very patient with the kids. One of them even came out and handed out bats to random kids (we didn't score one). Even though we didn't get home until almost 1 am.....and Beth and I were both sick to our stomachs (those nasty hot dogs, I think) we had a great time.

The greatest thing......

.....since sliced bread! The Bumbo seat! Where has this thing been all my life (and why didn't I think of it)? It is the absolute, hands down, best baby item I have (so far). I never dreamed that Addi would be able to use it yet, I mean 3 month olds can't sit up. I decided to just test her out....and you can see for yourself....she can sit up in it.

Now granted, the whole 5 minutes I had her in it she was looking at me with a look that said "Can't you see that my back is all bent over, my head is still too wobbly and I really want out of this thing?" LOL! Bless her heart! Does this mean I can write 3 months, 1 week for sitting up in her baby book? I just knew she was advanced!!!

Way Back When-esday!

Ok, Wordless Wednesday was just too boring hard for me. It's just not my nature to be wordless. Hee hee! So I decided to do Way Back When-esday, instead.

This picture was taken at Roberts Elementary on February 4, 2006. That's Bo at the top and then left to right, Ben, Drew, Russ. They look so little!

(Be sure to check back on Friday for something fun!)
