Oh, Baby!

Just thought I would share a few cute Addi pics. She is up to 9 lbs now and is getting little rolls everywhere. I could just squeeze her (and do).

A picnic, a birthday and some trucks!

Oh my Lord, I'm tired. That was my comment on Facebook last night after being on a 13 1/2 hour road trip yesterday. We started out at Touch A Truck at Mt. Tabor park. Drew loves this and we have gone every year since he could walk. It is basically just a huge parking lot filled with trucks, police cars, helicopters and lots of other fun things. The kids get to climb in and on the trucks, blow horns, play with gadgets, etc. It's such a great thing for Paulding County to put on.

Next, we headed toward the mountains looking for a place for a picnic. We didn't even make it out of Marietta before we stopped because we were all starving. We eneded up at Laurel park off of Whitlock. It is a beautiful park (except the yucky pond water). We ate, fed the ducks, played on the playground and then hit the road again.

Friday was my step mom's 70th birthday. My dad was planning on taking her to the Dillard House in North GA to spend the night and enjoy some yummy food. We arranged (without her knowing) for all of us to be there waiting when they got to the restaurant. She thought she would be enjoying a quiet dinner for 2, but instead enjoyed a very noisy dinner for 17. The surprise was a success and she had no idea!

Drew and Grandma Shirley!

Holley enjoying her corn on the cob!

We even encountered a celebrity. Anyone remember Moby from Kicks 101.5? Yeah, baby!

The birthday girl!

The gangs all here!

At the last minute before the hostess snapped this picture, I yelled, "Make a silly face"

It was a great day, tiring but very fun! Happy Birthday, Shirley. We love you!

New Chick in Town

Since I finally finished mailing Addi's birth announcements.....I figure I would post it on here. Isn't it just the cutest? The girl that did these also did my shower invites. She is so talented...I just kinda told her what I wanted and she put it all together. She is on Etsy (a very addicting site for handmade items).

Pacifier Blues (Part 2)

If you didn't read part 1 to this, make sure you do so before you read this post so you get it.

We have been very careful to make sure Daisy doesn't get hold of any more pacis (the darn things are not cheap). Anyway, yesterday I heard Keith yelling at Daisy and when i looked he was picking up a paci and said that Daisy almost chewed another one. He picked it up off the chair, washed it off and put it on the counter.

Fast forward to the middle of the night. Addi usually wakes up every 3 hours (like clockwork) eats, gets changed and with her paci, she will go right back to sleep. Last night was different. She fussed and fussed all night. We took turns trying to get her to sleep. She would suck on her paci for a second and then spit it out. This happened literally hundreds of times throughout the night.

This morning, when we got up, her paci fell on the floor so I picked it up to wash it.....and I noticed something. There were teeth holes all in it. Keith didn't think Daisy had really gotten it and she must have just had time to bite it a time or two but not really chew the end off.

Poor Addi.....no wonder she spit that thing out so many times. I bought 4 new ones today....we'll see how long those last!

Honest Abe Drew

Can I brag for a minute??? I know....bragging about ones children drives other people crazy....but it's kind of a rite of passage every now and then, isn't it?? Anyway.....here's my brag. Drew won the Character Ed award for this month at school. He got it for honesty. He got an award, his picture on the bulletin board, his name called over the intercom and a bag full of goodies! He tried telling me the story and it had something to do with putting his ball back in PE when he found out he wasn't supposed to do something. Anyway, that's not what matters. What matters is that he was recognized and I am so proud of him! I love that they do this kind of thing in schools now. Kids really need things like this to boost their ego every now and then! Yay, Drew!!!

Oh, on a sidenote......isn't that cool how I struck through the word Abe??? If you want to know how to do it...let me know (very easy).

Is it a girl???

Jackie and I were at Sam's today after the Easter Egg hunt in Hiram (along with 9,000 other people) and this is how Addi looked. Decked out in pink from head to toe. A man came up and was oohing and ahhing over her and then he asked me....."Is it a girl?" Huh???? I mean how could anyone mistake this precious little thing for a boy??

Pacifier Blues

Funny Story! I bought a cute little paci holder to keep in Addi's diaper bag. Well, Sunday morning before we left for church, I reached in and gave it a little shake to make sure there was a paci in there. There was! We get to church and (we haven't taken her to the nursery yet) during the service she starts getting a little fussy. I again, reach in the diaper bag and into the cute little paci holder to get her paci. All the while, Keith is holding her as she starts squirming and fussing even more. I pulled out her paci and was about to solve the squirming/fussing problem when I looked down and saw exactly what you see in the pics above. OMG! Daisy had gotten hold of another pacifier.....that made a total of 3 so far! The people sitting on both sides of us and behind us saw the whole event unfold and we were all cracking up....silently.
It's a good thing the Easter Bunny is bringing more pacies on Sunday morning!
