Way Back When-esday!

I found these pictures of me and Jackie a few weeks ago at my Dad's house. My mom made the dresses. I wish I still had them, I would love to put Addi in one of them! We were 4 & 6 when these pics were taken. Can you guess who is who???

Whoooo has a new room???

Addi does! That's WHOOOOOO! It was time for her to be out of a crib (sniff, sniff). I had seen this adorable owl stuff at Target a long time ago and knew that's what I wanted her room to be. I started buying the pieces here and there over the last year until I finally had everything.
But she was such a good sleeper in her crib that I just couldn't bring myself to ruin that (you all know that I LOVE my sleep in the morning since I stay up half the night). But she kept asking for her "owl room". So I finally told her when she started going potty all the time, she could have it. Well, guess whoooooo is potty trained??? She sure is! It took several weeks of being the "potty Nazi" but it finally clicked and she only wears a pull up at night and nap now. Last week, I finally got up the nerve to go out in public without diapers and she has had NO accidents! Yay. Addi!
So, without further ado....here is her new room. I just keep going in there and looking around. It turned out so cute!!
I painted and shellacked these 2 little peg board thingys to hold her (ever growing) Gymbo purse collection. I already need another one because these 2 were full as soon as I put it up!
You might recognize her bow holder from this post. I just removed the ladybugs and added some little owls to match!!
I made the banner with my Cricut and the birds were part of the wall decals!
Her new little armoire that I got at Ikea! This is her tutu collection. I know what you are thinking (she's gone overboard again) but in my defense, I must say that she has had some of these since she was ONE. She never outgrows them!! Seriously!! They range in size from 12-18 months up to size 3. I just keep changing the tops with the seasons!!
I need to figure out something cute to put up here so I don't junk it up! Any ideas???
Hope you enjoyed the tour of her new room!

She said YES......

....to the DRESS! We went dress shopping for Shannon's bridal gown a few weeks ago. It was so much fun! She actually chose the very first dress she tried on, which was surprising. She looked so pretty in each one.

This was one that I picked out but once she tried it on, none of us loved it.
We all thought this one made her look like Cinderella and it was a very close second!Of course, I can't show you the dress she chose...but I will give you a sneak peek! It is gorgeous!!!!

Way Back When-esday!

We will be celebrating Drew's 11th birthday this weekend (his party will be in 2 weeks due to fall break next week). It is so hard for me to believe that the boy is turning 11. WOW!! These were taken at his 6th birthday in 2006 at Pump It up!!!

Look how little the blond sisters and Bailey were. Cute!!!

My friend Lisa's little boy, Ryan!! (Hey Lisa!!)

We Will Never Forget!

Another September 11th. 10 long years. I think this year was more sad than the rest. Not sure if it was because it has been 10 years or what. Jackie and I (and the kids) went to visit the Field of Flags at Kennesaw Mountain. There is one flag for every victim of the attacks. They went on forever.
We just sat under the tree and chatted with people around us about how sad it all is. Everyone said the same thing.....it still seems unreal. Like a dream....or a nightmare. A nightmare that, unfortunately...we will never wake up from.

Way Back When-esday!

It is our tradition to make red, white and blue cookies and take them to a fire station every year on or around September 11th. This was Drew in September 2007. He looks so little, doesn't he????

Addi's 5 Minutes of Fame

I had a Groupon to Picture People a few weeks ago so when I started deciding what outfits to put on the kids...Drew informed me that he was not getting his picture taken. I kept insisting and he kept saying no. So finally I agreed and we just took Addi. Made my life a heck of a lot easier just dressing one kid for pics and not having to coordinate 2 (especially when one is an almost 11 year old boy).

I dreaded it because, well let's just say....Addi is quite "spirited" and I just knew it would be total chaos. I made sure to schedule on a day when Keith could go with us.

We got there and it was the strangest thing I have ever witnessed. She transformed into this sweet (she really is) angelic, little girl who did EXACTLY as the photographer asked. We were cracking up. I have never seen her so still and quiet. The photographer fell in love with her immediately (who doesn't???) and told us she was like modeling clay. However, she posed Addi, she stayed...she would not move a muscle. So needless to say...the pics turned out fantastic and I had the hardest time picking out which ones to get. Here are some of my favorites:
She loved Addi so much that she asked me to sign a model release. Of course, I said yes but didn't think too much of it til a week or so later when a friend of mine said that she saw Addi's pictures on the wall. I high tailed it up there, camera in hand and this is what I discovered. I was soo proud. The photographer on duty said that several people had come in to see her "modeling" display (well, I did post it on facebook, Paulding.com and several other message boards that I frequent......just kidding).

So here, my friends is your future Miss America.........
